Sustainability at Eriksberg

At Eriksberg, sustainability is a prerequisite for everything we do. The reserve encompasses 925 hectares of deciduous forest, open land, lakes and the Baltic Sea coast, and managing this landscape in the long term requires a well-thought-out perspective on nature, people and the economy.

In March 2026, Eriksberg was audited and certified by the Good Travel Seal, an international certification program for responsible tourism issued by Green Destinations. Eriksberg was awarded level 2, Silver, with top ratings in nature conservation, culture, waste management and care for people. The certification is a confirmation of the work that has long characterized the operation, from the kitchen's raw materials and energy use to the management of wildlife and the working environment of the staff.

Eriksberg is also part of the UNESCO Blekinge Archipelago Biosphere Reserve and is protected within Natura 2000, which means that the reserve's natural and marine environments are managed according to strict requirements for biodiversity and long-term sustainability. These recognitions reflect work that is not new — it is something that has been shaped here for generations.
